Leeds Food and Drink: There's A Mr Nobody In Town

And the award for the coolest name in restaurant branding goes to...

Another new addition to the circle of eatery and cocktail fuelled places in Leeds City Centre, Mr Nobody replaces the popular Rare steak restaurant that located on Lower Briggate, directly next to Lambert's Yard and if the launch night I was so kindly invited to last week is anything to go by; this friendly scene ideal for all ages, families and all, will prove to be just as welcomed. The logic behind the name was pretty straight forward - John Farrar, the chef who has worked for no less than 11 Michelin starred restaurants hated the idea of featuring his own name in the title and replied to a suggestion with the response "Who am I? I'm Mr Nobody!" - and there you have it, problem resolved plain and simple.

The Sunday Natter: It's Easter, Just Treat Yourself!

Easter Sunday, an excusable time to bombard your body with as much refined sugar as possible in the form of chocolate eggs and bunny shaped candy (also this year a time to complain about the loss of one hour's sleep and rejoice at the lighter nights, but that's a different story). Although I wasn't entirely sure how, I was determined to incorporate the topic of Easter into my blog somehow and as it so happens to fall when I feel the need to up my chatty levels, a general, light-hearted, flippant, and a little bit of a personal chat it will be.

The Twelve Stages Of Shopping In Primark

When I was writing up my Primark haul I had a short brainwave that I just knew I had to act on. It occurred to me that shopping in Primark (or Primarni better known to some) isn't just an ordinary task, it is in fact a wild journey that brings an influx of emotions, thoughts and feelings and although there may have been similar posts that have been done before, I felt it was only necessary to share my take on having an open door to the spellbinding store and the stages we go through when we take a deep breath and head forward - because, let's face it, no matter what our status or how much we're in denial, we're all Primark worshippers at heart.

It's Time For A Spring Primark Haul

It happened. It had to happen eventually. You accumulate a few bits and bobs over a couple of months and then the annual seasonal, splurge worthy trip to Primark is inevitable, even when your subconscious is telling you not to shove everything you see at first sight into the basket whilst blocking out the notably higher prices and lack of cash in your purse.

The Body Shop British Rose Collection: Celebrating 40 Years

There's two event emails that raise my excitement levels to an extremity, and that's Lush and The Body Shop. This time it's the latter (although next week is the first option, eeek). Last Thursday, The Body Shop on Leeds Briggate were holding an evening of cosmetic cheer and showcasing to parade their brand new British Rose Collection and to celebrate 40 years of their face, body and soul foundation - and I was luckily invited down, along with plenty of lovely ladies and gents! Greeted with some chocolate nibbles, prosecco, lots of cameras and eager bloggers in their natural habitat, we were left to wonder round until the others arrived and were then given a short but sweet consultation and demonstration of the freshly exclusive products.

So, you're a fashion blogger, you must love yourself?

If I had a pound for every time I heard that, I'd be able to jump on the next plane to the Caribbean and avoid any more misinterpretations of this apparent self vanity I possess. The assumption that every blogger who photographs their personal style for the world to see holds this palpable, narcissistic confidence couldn't be further from the truth. Or so I certainly think so in my shoes (no pun intended).

Beauty: the garnier micellar water round up

I'm taking it right back to the start today! Garnier Micellar Water was a compelling discovery made by myself a good few years ago now (yes, right back when face wipes were my only form of cleanser, yikes). Despite its cost effective price, it was an absolute life changer and I believe the simple purifying method is an important must in a daily and nightly skincare routine. If you've been reading my blog since the start (and if you pay any attention to my frequent complaining) you'll know I have extremely oily, troublesome skin that's prone to breakouts most of the time - which takes me on to a realisation of an updated version on the micellar water. Pure Active has been around a while but for slack old me, it took a TV advert to bring it to my attention that there could be an even more beneficial form for my skin type.

Personal: things that made me happy in February

Without sounding extremely repetitive; I can't believe we've reached the beginning of another new month. The leap day (which I most definitely didn't use as a female perspective proposal opportunity for the invisible man) made absolutely no difference to the length of February; the shortest month of the year and by god, did I feel it. I said I'd sort my life out in February but it looks like March is the next endeavour (pffft, who am I kidding). Leo may have finally won his well deserved Oscar and Adele smashed the Brits but I'm still to discover my motivation and stop eating myself out of the house!
