Us Brits, we're never happy. We moan when summer equals rainy, dreary weather suited for only those creatures adapted to hibernation, we groan when the temperatures soar and it's hard to breathe, and then we deep sigh again when the blaring sun's out for less than a week until it changes back to normal again - but that's just us and it's in our righteous veins to get on our high horse whenever feels necessary. The past few days have showed solid signs summer has arrived and there's nothing I've loved more than stripping off the layers, digging out the new summer gear and making the most of it. Now, I'm not a huge fan of my feet (come on, who is) but those boots and full shoes have also gotta go - desperate times call for desperate measures and all that. When it's hot, you've got to give your feet a well needed breather which is where the go to solution of all shoe woes come in handy! It's sandal shopping time.

It doesn't matter how many times I repeat myself, I stick to the motto that comfort is key! As much as I like a good sturdy heeled sandal, flats are my conditional choice. Not only are they a must have summer staple but they're also multifaceted - meaning just one casual pair will see you through from the beach, to the bar, to just a flick of your slip ons beside the pool. This season's sandal trends aren't much different from last years; the lace that elegantly ties up your ankle are still hot, along with the classic crossover sliders and the metallics. Flatforms, fringing and embroidery are a biggy in 2016, as are the espadrilles making standard, lightweight, effortless canvas  a stylish notion. Who says you need to be all glam to find your sole mate?
