How much gingham is too much gingham? Doing my best Lindsay Lohan in Mean Girls impression; the limit does not exist. I consider gingham a Marmite trope - you either love it, or hate it. If I'm entirely truthful it's taken a few weeks for me to look past the nostalgia of primary school where the playground would just be a cluster of colourful checked dresses playing hopscotch and see gingham as a genuine trend report waiting to happen. Even if you're trying to avoid it whilst shopping on the high street, you just can't escape it so why not embrace the playful print in all its glory?
There's so many pieces I'm loving at the moment, even with multiple trends such as ruffles, flares and embroidery juxtaposed in the silhouette. I personally tend to associate gingham with a monochromatic theme which is why there's no burst of vibrant shades in this wishlist but that doesn't mean there's not a wide range available elsewhere. From the rainbow hues to the amplified neutrals, from simple blouses you can pair with jeans to lively jumpsuits that you can layer up and go all out with, and from the tiniest of checks to the bold and brassy chunky designs - the retro twist and the ability to switch from a girly to an androgynous style is all prevailed in the diverse gingham collection!
