I never thought I'd get to to this point, to the stage where I'm comfortable enough to share my deepest, darkest secret with the whole world when the fear of judgement I feel on a daily basis already dominates my entire existence but here we are, three years of blogging down the line and no longer do I feel as though I should hide away the part of me that defines the difference between my online persona and the verity of my realistic battles. Am I scared? Hell yes. Am I fighting the emotion right now? Even more hell yes. Am I hoping to change attitudes, raise awareness and aspire to continue holding out hope by telling my story? Beauty: Under Eye Corrector, I Found A Dupe!

Since discovering Bobbi Brown's miracle working corrector, it's become my holy grail product and my fragile eye area deprived of precious napping hours suffers greatly when I don't apply it generously (in other words, I frighten the outside world with my purple coloured bags and grumpiness caused by lack of sleep). The corrector has the immediate ability to neutralise the darker hues embedded in the crease of your under eyes with its pinky peachy tones. Just one sweep of the concealer-like consistency and it brightens the entire section. Really, there are no faults; it stays put all day, works with other cosmetics applied to the face afterwards or before and doesn't dry with a caking appearance. The only problem is, for the size, the price is a little hefty and with my growing expensive tastes in beauty, I can't always afford to keep repurchasing after I sometimes - probably too often - overuse in attempt to drown out any signs of fatigue. It's a vicious cycle where my best feature is concerned!

As last week's Sunday Natter seemed to be embraced with likeness and was the pinnacle to my ego boost in the recognition that I do have the ability to make at least one person laugh (even if it is the 'silently whilst my face doesn't move' kind) I thought to follow on the light-hearted, witty approach to the cliché stereotypes and general characterizing of bloggers, I'd produce yet another post that is hopefully relatable to this community of influencers that just so happen to have being sucked into this world of strenuous yet rewarding activity.

The curious outsiders really don't understand the inner complex world of blogging, do they? Admittedly I wasn't all that knowledgeable when I was a dummie but once I began to reveal my online secret hiding place to those around me and developed in my learning curve I realised just how many misconceptions there are surrounding the industry that's fast becoming a major passion turned selling point. Of course, people sauntering through average everyday life with absolutely no idea how blogging works, or what the connotations of the word really are, will assume it's all sunshine and rainbows; especially when it's the highs rather than the lows that are explained in the answered question making the notion seem nothing but thrilling ("she gets all sorts sent to her" - thanks for that, mum).

I feel us Brits have been spoiled to a great extent with the soaring temperatures and as known to most in relation to house humidity, 'sticky weather' over the past few days, so much so that it's almost guaranteed it won't last and by next week any sign of approaching summer will be restored to winter like hibernation mode. All it takes is some beaming sunshine to bring people out of their lairs, for the ice cream by the lake/booze and burgers on the barbecue insta photos and happy mirrored sunnie selfies but unfortunately, hand in hand with that comes the body police because apparently, we still live in a day and age where moralizing comments spout from the mouths of condescending individuals about the way we choose to dress. 

Personal: things that made me happy in April

Well, would you look at that - another month has passed and we're nearly half way through the year already (should I laugh or should I cry, who knows?!). April departed so fast, so much so that I've had to really think into depth when recapping on the moments and feelings that I've overcome. It's nice to take a step back from the reality of a month that saw ambiguous snow turned to spring sunshine, the death of yet more iconic celebrities, the fuss of the queen's birthday - and to tread into my world of contrastingly dull yet gratifying occasions for me personally. Truthfully, they're one of my favourite posts to write!
