Happy Halloween! - my Halloween memories

Happy Halloween, everybody! I feel like as a blogger it's my liability to post some kind of fabulous, monumental makeup tutorial, nail design, party gear, spooky-themed decor or a unique idea on how to celebrate in style but truth be told, I'm the least creative person possible and quite frankly I'm naff at pretty much everything; especially when it relates to an original invention on a seasonal occasion.

Wednesday Wishlist: discovering Yoins

Have you ever placed a random search on Google for a piece of clothing that's devastatingly sold out and then happen to come across a site where said item is available and for an even better price? Well, that ecstatic feeling occurred for me a couple of week ago when I located Yoins, an international website which seems to stock a good variety of Zara-esque clothing, along with some individual, high quality and super stylish pieces.

What I wore: seaside neutrals

This weekend I took an intentional small blog break to spend some quality time with my family in honour of what would have been my Grandad's 80th birthday. As a very close knit family, we have our traditional values and planned to celebrate my Grandad's memory and presence despite him not being here in person.

Life: the Bar Soba black card Leeds launch night

With the dark, winter nights drawing in, it's becoming a barrier for a blogger who relies on natural lighting (like moi). However, when a venue comes to life with outdoor warmth shining through it becomes even more difficult to capture the essence in its finest hour of glory.

Wednesday Wishlist: spreading the coat love

As much as we try to deny it, it's officially coat season and although it's not overbearingly cold at the moment, I'm still in preparation mode. With the shops hauling in their new season stock, I can't help but consider a few (or should I say lots) of winter coat options.

Recreating fashion's iconic movie moments with Farfetch

Film and fashion come hand in hand. We may not notice when we're so enthralled in a storyline but it's there, and often more noticeable when pointed out the second time round.

You only have to watch the infinitely magnificent Holly Golightly open the show with her LBD arrival in Breakfast At Tiffany's, Cher Horrowitz choosing her mismatch retro, preppy outfits with the help of her computer in the fabulous and never ageing Clueless, Miranda Priestly being in charge of all areas including her flawless wardrobe in the Devil Wears Prada... and that's just to name a few. Looking back on the classic movies is my favourite pastime and not only just to rejoice at the idolising top ranked star moments but to discover the nitty gritty of fashion and the designers behind the award-winning wardrobes and to look deeper into how clothes and costumes can create a living, breathing and often well remembered character.

That's why when Farfetch got in touch to ask if I'd like to take part in their 'Fashion's Iconic Movie Moments' competition I didn't hesitate in accepting the challenge of creating a reinvented fashion set based on the best moment of my choice to celebrate film festival season being well on its way and to be in with a chance of winning a £250 Farfetch voucher! As I didn't get the time to delve into my own wardrobe, I took my well loved approach of producing an informative wish-list style of display featuring all items from the oh so luxurious Farfetch website.

The Sunday Natter: life as a leftie

Luckily, the world has become accepting of left handed humans and that means I'm softening to the concept and likability of being left handed. I'm a proud leftie, I can appreciate the difference, the uniqueness and consider myself pretty damn special.

Life: Aquascutum and Issa launch event at Lambert's Yard

After being on a mini blog event hiatus, I jumped back on board this week at the ever so lovely Lambert's Yard to celebrate the launch of two exclusive brands, Aquascutum and Issa which will be available in the shop this season marking Leeds as being the first place to stock anywhere out of London! With the likes of the Duchess of Cambridge herself sporting the marque, it was bound to impress (and that it did).

Wednesday Wishlist - Stradivarius new season

You may have seen me mention Stradivarius before, I've raved about the store before in a previous blog post and the deep devoted love I share hasn't budged an inch. You'd think I'd get bored of creating continuous wishlists, especially when it mentions the same shop but this particular establishment never goes out of fashion (whoops, another pun) and it's always guaranteed I'll spot something I desire whilst browsing and constantly checking back. I consider Stradivarius as a cheaper Zara (after all it is part of the same family line). It sells similar items; the investments, the extravagant, unique layers and the casual, minimal but extremely versatile basics.

2015's Autumn/Winter Primark haul

Yes, it's that time of year again; the season change means it's a perfectly reasonable excuse to go on a mass raid in Primark. Primark is my one true love all year round but there's something about the autumn/winter stock that draws me in more than the spring/summer.

The Sunday Natter: if it's not on social media, it's not true

I don't know why it's become customary to share every detail of our life, in every single situation, on social media. I'll be the first one to hold my hands up and admit I'm guilty of heading straight to the internet whenever something positively pleasing or negatively nagging happens on a day to day basis. Gone are the days we embrace a moment instantly, and welcomed are the technology devices reached for before we even begin to process what's occurring in front of us. I suppose it's so common now that it's the norm but what's slightly worrying is how reliant people are on social media, how it's suddenly become the only valid source and how people believe everything they read and take in fallacious knowledge that isn't actually factual. There's so much I could say about this specific topic but in today's post I wanted to speak about what you see online and what goes on in reality and how quite clearly there's often a major difference.

Wednesday Wishlist: nightwear dreams

As you may or may not know, Missguided have just released a fabulous nightwear range full of so much lust worthy lounging which means there's another addition to my favourite pyjama potentials. Before Missguided, I relied on ASOS, Forever 21 and New Look to browse and giggle at the quirky, text print designs. Nothing's changed, apart from now my list has grown longer.

Giveaway: preparing for Christmas with Paul Mitchell

Hello lovelies!

Today I have something quite exciting to share with you. It seems pretty bizarre announcing a Christmas giveaway at the beginning of October but I just couldn't wait to get it up and running (and truthfully, before we know it, Saint Nick will be gliding down chimneys and Mariah Carey embedded in our brain).

The Sunday Natter: falling into autumn

Since we whizzed into October I've had very little motivation and seem to be stuck in a rut. That's a common occurrence of mine but it certainly gets worse once 'summer' disappears into the distance. This country enables me little preparation for season change. Before you know it, the nights are much longer, dark nights drawn in quicker, you're unsure what wardrobe choice to make as the temperature rapidly changes throughout the day and by 7pm, you're freezing and ready for bed.
