Holiday Lookbook: The Daytime Dress Down

The second (and last) instalment of my holiday lookbook is toned down just a smidgen from last year - not only to save room in my suitcase and stop cluttering the apartment with clothes I probably won't even get the chance to wear but to prevent my poor brother going into further meltdown as I drag him around Spain with a camera and my formal orders. Day to day wear is a favourite in my book, there's a sense of careless casual and cool chic thrown into my outfit delivery as I either spend time around the pool in bikinis and cover ups, or stroll off for breakfast in a lightweight get-up of shorts skimpy tops. The heat is obviously insanely intense throughout the day, especially at peak time of 12-3pm so it's hard to find comfortable balance - as you'll see in a moment, I usually end up immersing myself with too many pairs of sunglasses, sandals, and sometimes even bare feet.

Day one: my airport attire was uncomplicated as can be this year as I managed to grab this denim jumpsuit in the New Look sale. As soon as I slipped into the broadened material and it fit like a glove I knew that would be the all in one piece I'd be travelling in. Its versatility fits in with the country swap; the cut out sides allowing me to breathe once I arrive in doubled temperatures! A pair of slip on mules I can easily release my feet from on the crammed plane and a baker boy cap I can hide my sweaty excursion hair in is just an added bonus.

Day two: before my hair transformed into scintillating golden locks from the sun I stuck to the warm colour palette and a clash of various prints. Reworking last year's suede cropped halterneck from River Island, I created a levelled bottom half with a striped pair of loose Primark trousers in a relaxed fit. Throw in a bag full of personality in the form of a watermelon and the beachy summer vibes are well and prosper.

Day three: with a blue painted wall across the road from where we were staying it was almost shouting me over to show off my integrating, all Boohoo outfit. An all white off the shoulder frill top and a contrasting choker to round off the striking clavicular region is one of my favourite fusions as I can delve into my like for the decolletage area - as are a high waisted feature patterned pair of shorts that draws attention to my paraded pins (and they were pretty damn delicate which provided alll the comfort for a day of exploring).

Day four: on a quiet evening of eating salads beside the pool to recuperate from the carb overload and trying to figure out how to tune in English TV, I took a break from doing absolutely nothing to head to the supermarket in my ASOS beach shirt dress (with my sunnies and straw hat for protection) - the oversized fit and rope tie around the waist made it the ideal thrown on gear, not to mention the gorgeous blush colour that reflected on the settling rays.

Day five: beach day, aka the day I bring a ginormous bag filled with an exchange of outfits with me to ensure I take full advantage of the location. On arrival I opted for an entire Primark ensemble -mid denim frayed shorts, a chiffon top and a tasselled necklace to compliment that v neck alfresco. I placed a short sleeve blazer over the top for that added effect but soon changed my mind when clammy became central.

Day six: they claim a photo can say a thousand words, yet in this scenario there are no inclinations of the pain I went through stalling at the click of a button. The sand was HOT but as I roamed around in my striped version of the ASOS speciality shirt dress in a cooling woven fabric, I started to forget about the minor problems that approaches us fashion bloggers on a regular basis!

Day seven: there's nothing better than discovering a past garment hung up in your wardrobe that you'd completely forgotten about, and it happened with this gorgeous porcelain printed cut out shoulder dress. It's a classic substitute for your usual kaftan, the flared arms classifying with the bell sleeve trend and the silk cloth was a soft cure for my fresh from the beach and tender-from-the-blaring-sun skin.

Day eight: to put a feminine twist on these whimsical Topshop embroidered shorts I hurled another item from last season into the equation - a Zara special square neck broderie anglaise vest with embedded flowered detail to mirror the colourful floral detail. These Public Desire tie up the leg sandals in the prettiest nude shade allowed me to complete my effeminate package.

Day nine: matching with my surroundings became the norm on this year's holiday, I think it's now naturally in my blood to double check my whereabouts whilst mentally joining them together with my outfit selection. The bold and busy paisley detail on this Boohoo skater dress meant the white walls with a growth of nature was the place to stand. I took inspo from the model on the website and added a double buckle western belt with some super cute fringed sandals to complete my look!

Day ten: on the final day I picked a combination that coincided with my upset of boarding that plane for home - black and white. Monochrome will always be my first choice even in 35 degrees so a zig zag cold shoulder dress that I swished around like a princess did the trick. Once again, I loved indulging in the cold shoulder trend that exposes my most favoured part of myself.

Just like my previous bout of displayed outfits, I'm ending with a statement of the fact I did enjoy a two week holiday but only ten were spent dressed in appropriate clothing to be able to name an official outfit. I wouldn't quite call a non discreet bikini bottom gravitating towards my actual bottom blog worthy, although in my next round of holiday photos there'll be a diary of adventures featuring a lot of swimwear nightmares saved by facetune.

And on that note, happy weekend!
